The 77th Academy Awards was held on February 27, 2005 in the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Chris Rock hosted an evening that would end up being dominated by Million Dollar Baby which won Best Picture, Best Actress (Hilary Swank), Best Director (Clint Eastwood), and Best Supporting Actor (Morgan Freeman). The Aviator won five Oscars including a Best Supporting Actress win for Cate Blanchett.
