Eminem was the biggest winner and a no-show at the 30th annual American Music Awards, taking four awards. Eminem wasn't the only big winner not in attendance. Multiple winners Dixie Chicks and Creed were also absent.

Ashanti won favorite new artist in both the pop and r&b categories. Nelly lost to Eminem in four categories, but won the Fan's Choice Award.

Alabama won the Award of Merit.
