The Black Eyed Peas took three American Music Awards in 2006. The quartet came out on top as favorite rap/hip hop group, favorite r&b group, and favorite rap/hip hop album for "Monkey Business."

Other multiple winners included the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, and Rascal Flatts.

The 2006 American Music Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Performers included Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, Jay-Z, Lionel Richie and Barry Manilow.
