The 14th Annual Critics Choice Awards were held January 8, 2009 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. "Slumdog Millionaire" was the movie of the night taking five awards including Best Picture. Sean Penn won twice as Best Actor and as part of the acting ensemble for "Milk." "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" starring Brad Pitt had eight nominations but no wins.
