Incumbent governor Ted Kulongoski was term-limited and couldn't run for re-election. Democrat John Kitzhaber won a narrow victory over former Secretary of State Chris Dudley. It was Kitzhaber's third overall term.

Senator Ron Wyden won re-election to a third full term over Republican law professor Jim Huffman.

All the incumbent congressmen won re-election.
