Incumbent Governor Jim Douglas did not run for re-election. Democrat Peter Shumlin did not quite get 50%, but Republican Brian Dubie conceded the race.

Incumbent U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy easily won re-election to a seventh term.

Peter Welch also easily won re-election as the at-large Representative from Vermont.
