The 16th installment of The Amazing Race began airing in February of 2010 and ended in May.
Brothers Dan & Jordan Pious of Rhode Island crossed the finish line first in San Francisco and won the million dollar prize.
Detour and roadblock tasks this season included using a banana to lure a 500-pound turtle across a path and dressing as World War I soldiers and deciphering Morse code.
Here were the Pit Stops:
- Leg 1 (Feb 14): Valparaiso, Chile - Dana & Adrian (high school sweethearts) eliminated.
- Leg 2 (Feb 21): Puerto Varas, Chile - Jody & Shannon (grandmother/granddaughter) eliminated.
- Leg 3 (Feb 28): Neuquen Province, Argentina - Monique & Shawne (moms/attorneys) eliminated.
- Leg 4 (Mar 7): Hamburg, Germany - non elimination leg.
- Leg 5 (Mar 14): Wargemoulin-Hurlus, France - Joe & Heidi (married couple) eliminated.
- Leg 6 (Mar 21): Epernay, France - Jordan & Jeff (dating couple) eliminated.
- Leg 7 (Mar 28): Praslin, Seychelles - non elimination leg.
- Leg 8 (Apr 4): George Town, Malaysia - Steve & Allie (father and daughter) eliminated.
- Leg 9 (Apr 11): Singapore - Carol & Brandy (dating couple) eliminated.
- Leg 10 (Apr 25): Shanghai, China - non elimination leg
- Leg 11 (May 2): Shanghai, China - Louie & Michael (detectives) eliminated
- Leg 12 (May 9): San Francisco, CA - Brent & Caite (dating models) finish third. Jet & Cord (cowboy brothers) finish second.
