The 9th edition of the Amazing Race began in Denver, Colorado and saw the teams visit such destinations as Brazil, Russia, Germany, Italy, Australia, Thailand, and Japan.
BJ & Tyler, best friends from California arrived at the finish in Denver first to take the one million dollar prize. Eric & Jeremy, friends from Florida came in second with Ray & Yolanda, a dating couple from Illinois coming in third.

- Episode 2: Brotas, Brazil - Lisa & Joni, sisters living in Florida and Texas, eliminated

- Episode 4: Munich, Germany - Wanda & Desiree, mother and daughter living in Georgia and New York, eliminated
- Episode 5: Segesta, Italy - Danielle & Dani, friends from New York, eliminated
- Episode 6: Siracusa, Italy - Dave & Lori, a dating couple from Kansas, eliminated
- Episode 7: Rio, Greece - Lake & Michelle, married couple from Mississippi, eliminated
- Episode 8: Jabreen, Oman
- Episode 9: Perth, Australia - Fran & Barry, married couple from Colorado, eliminated
- Episode 10: Lake Bennett, Australia
- Episode 11: Bangkok, Thailand - Joseph & Monica, dating couple from Arkansas, eliminated
