Season nine of American Idol on Fox concluded with Lee DeWyze, 23 years old from Mount Prospect IL, as the winner. He was paired up with Crystal Bowersox in the season finale.
For the last round of competition DeWyze sang "The Boxer", "Everybody Hurts" and "Beautiful Day".
Ellen DeGeneres joined the panel of judges for season nine, which was also the last season for Simon Cowell.
