Florida quarterback Tim Tebow won the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and became the first sophomore to win the award.

Tebow became the first major college player to run for over 20 touchdowns and throw for over 20 touchdowns. He became the third Gator win the Heisman, following Steve Spurrier and Danny Wuerffel.

Runner-up for the second year in a row was Arkansas running back Darren McFadden.
