Alabama running back Mark Ingram became the first Crimson Tide player to win the Heisman Trophy in the closest vote in the award's 75 year history.
Ingram, who received 227 first place votes, ran for 1542 yards and scored 18 touchdowns for Alabama. He was the third consecutive sophomore to win the award.
Stanford running back Toby Gerhart finished second and finishing third was Texas quarterback Colt McCoy.
