The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Calgary Flames 4 games to 3 to win the 2004 NHL Playoffs and the Stanley Cup. Ruslan Fedotenko scored both goals for Tampa Bay in game seven to help secure the first Stanley Cup for the Lightning in its twelve year history.

The Lightning were led by NHL leading scorer Martin St Louis, goalie Nikolai Khabibulin, and captain Dave Andreychuk who won his first Stanley Cup after 22 seasons. Brad Richards was named the MVP.
