The 31st annual MTV Video Music Awards were held on August 24, 2014 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Leading in nominations were Beyoncé and Iggy Azalea with eight each. Beyonce ended up winning two awards as well as being awarded with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. She also closed the show with a medley of songs from her latest album. Miley Cryus won the top award of Video of the Year for "Wrecking Ball."
