Crashes were the story down the stretch of the 2017 First Data 500. Brad Keselowksi had a lead with nine laps to go but a caution cost him his cushion. Chase Elliott took the lead with four laps left, but Denny Hamlin him into a spin and into the wall.

The race went into overtime with Hamlin leading, but Kyle Busch moved through the field, Hamlin crashed, and Busch won the race - securing himself a spot in the finale.
