The race began in 1993 as the Slick 50 300. Other sponsors have included Jiffy Lube and Siemens before Lenox Industrial Tools took over in 2006.
An extra lap was added in 2008 to represent that Lenox Industrial Tools is looking for those who "go the extra mile."
