Who Won Maryland Elections in 2006?

In the 2006 Maryland election, incumbent Republican Governor Robert Ehrlich was defeated by DFL challenger Martin O'Malley (pictured left). In a battle for an open Maryland senate seat Democrat Ben Cardin defeated Republican Michael Steele.

There were seven incumbent members of the House and all won re-election in 2006. The 3rd District of Maryland had an open seat which was taken fairly easily by Democrat John Sarbanes.
