World Cup Soccer
The FIFA World Cup (the world championship of soccer - or football as it is know around the world) has been held every four years since 1930, except for 1942 and 1946 because of World War II.
Qualifying matches take place much of the time during the other three years. 32 national teams compete in the Finals over a four week period. Brazil has won the World Cup five times.
Spain was the most recent World Cup champion defeating the Netherlands 1-0.
The 2014 World Cup will be held in Brazil.
