Novak Djokovic won his fifth Australian Open title and eighth Grand Slam by beating Andy Murray 7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-0. Roy Emerson is now the only man with more Australian Open singles titles with six.

Djokovic got the momentum in a close match with a service break in the eighth game of the third set and went on to win four straight points.

Andy Murray has appeared in the Australian Open final four times now, and has yet to win. Djokovic meanwhile, is five for five in Australian Open finals.
