In a rematch of the previous year's Australian Open Men's Singles final, Novak Djokovic once again defeated Andy Murray and captured his record sixth Australian Open championship. The score was 6-1, 7-5, 7-6 (3).

The win gave him 11 career majors - tying him with legends Rod Laver and Bjorn Borg.

Murray is now a five-time Australian Open runner-up. Djokovic won almost 60 percent of his second-serve points, and Murray committed 65 unforced errors.
