Stan Wawrinka won his first French Open singles title with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 upset victory over Novak Djokovic. Djokovic, who had a 17-3 career record against Wawrinka going into the match, was denied a career Grand Slam.

This was the second major championship for Wawrinka, who also won the 2014 Australian Open.
