Who Won the 2013 French Open Women's Singles Title?
Serena Williams defeated defending French Open champion Maria Sharapova 6-4, 6-4 to win the 2013 women's title. She closed out strong with three aces in the final game.
The victory gave her a 16th major title and was her 31st overall win in a row - the longest single-season streak in 13 years. With this win Williams is 43-2 with six titles this season.
Williams ended an 11 year title drought in Paris, and at 31 became the oldest woman to win a major title since Martina Navratilova won Wimbledon at age 33.
