Boston Marathon

The Boston Marathon is held annually on Patriot's Day (the third Monday in April). The first race was run way back in 1897 and was won by John J McDermott of New York. The 2013 race was marred by two explosions that occurred on the sidewalk near the finish line which killed three spectators. The 2020 race was cancelled due to COVID-19.
