The 70th Annual Academy Awards were presented on March 23, 1998 in the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Billy Crystal hosted an evening which saw "Titanic" and director/producer James Cameron run away with nearly every award - except for acting. Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt from "As Good As It Gets" took Best Actor and Best Actress.
