The 82nd Annual Academy Awards were held March 7, 2010 at the Kodak Theatre and hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. The Hurt Locker was the big winner, taking home six Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director for Kathryn Bigelow (pictured). It was the first time a woman had won for Best Director. Hurt Locker and Avatar went into the evening with nine nominations each.
