The 38th MTV Video Music Awards were held September 12, 2021. The ceremony was hosted by Doja Cat at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Justin Bieber had the most nominations with nine, but it was BTS, Lil Nas X and Olivia Rodrigo who tied for the most wins with three each.
