Avenue Q at the 2004 Tony Awards

"Avenue Q", an adult musical featuring some naughty puppets, took home three Tony's including Best Musical. The revival of "Assassins" was another big winner with five Tony Awards. Doug Wright's "I Am My Own Wife" won Best Play, and Jefferson Mays won best actor in the same. "Wicked" had the most nominations with ten. Hugh Jackman hosted and also won for "The Boy From Oz."
