The musical "Dear Evan Hansen" was the big winner at the 71st Annual Tony Awards taking six awards including Best Musical. The revival of "Hello, Dolly!" also had a good night winning four Tonys. "Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet Of 1812" had the most nominations with 12.

The Pittsburgh Penguins repeated as Stanley Cup champions with a four games to two series win over the Nashville Predators. Series MVP Sidney Crosby became the first player since Wayne Gretzky in 1986-87 to lead the league in goals and then go on to win the Cup. Goalie Matt Murray ended the series with two consecutive shutouts.

NFL DraftNFL Draft
The Cleveland Browns used the top pick in the 2017 NFL draft to select defensive end Myles Garrett out of Texas A&M. Alabama had four players taken in the first round, while Ohio State and LSU each had three.

2017 was the first time MTV added television to their movie awards show. It was also the first time they combined men and women in acting categories. "Beauty And The Beast" and the TV show "Stranger Things" won the top prizes. Also winning multiple awards were the movies "Get Out" and "Hidden Figures."
