Major league baseball crowns a National League Batting Champion every year, and the list below starts way back in 1901 when Jesse Burkett won with a .376 average.

Ty Cobb has won the most titles with twelve. Other players with multiple AL Batting Titles include Honus Wagner, Rogers Hornsby, Roberto Clemente, Bill Madlock and Tony Gwynn.

The most recent winner of the NL Batting Title is Justin Morneau of the Colorado Rockies.
