From Ella Fitzgerald in 1959 to Lady Gaga ("Bad Romance") in 2011 the Grammy Awards awarded the Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Female Grammy. Starting in 2012 the award was combined with the male pop vocal performance and became Best Pop Solo performance.
