The 33rd annual MTV Video Music Awards were held on August 28, 2016 at Madison Square Garden. Beyonce had the most nominations going in and dominated the awards winning eight times including Video of the Year. Adele's "Hello" was the most nominated video, but was shut out. Rihanna won the Video Vangard Award.
