Who Won 39th Annual CMA Awards?
Nov 15, 2005
Keith Urban took the spotlight at the 39th Annual Country Music Association Awards, which were held in the Big Apple at Madison Square Garden on November 15, 2005. Urban took home the coveted Entertainer of the Year, as well as Male Vocalist of the Year. It was his second consecutive Male Vocalist Award. He thanked tour-mate Kenny Chesney for "teaching him so much about entertaining." Lee Ann Womack also had a big night, taking home awards for Single of the Year ("I May Hate Myself In the Morning"), Album of the Year ("There's More Where That Came From"), and Musical Event of the Year for her duet with George Strait ("Good News, Bad News"). This was the second time Womack won Single of the Year - she won in 2000 for "I Hope You Dance." Alabama, DeFord Bailey, and Glen Campbell were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
