The musical "Hamilton" led the way at the 2016 Tony Awards. The show came into the evening with a record-setting 16 nominations in 13 categories - and won eleven Tonys including Best Musical.

"The Humans" was the most honored play, winning four Tonys including Best Play.

James Corden hosted the ceremony that was held the same evening as the Orlando nightclub shooting. Many speeches reflected on the tragedy.
